It’s a day of some disappointment in AI, as ChatGPT’s 100 million users experience major service outages after an alleged hacker attack.
But Mozilla - yes the company behind Firefox - is here to save the day with a new AI model that acts as a shopping assistant to help you catch fake reviews, make better informed purchases, and more.

ChatGPT goes down after alleged DDoS attack
Many of ChatGPT’s 100 million active users are probably experiencing an emotional rollercoaster this week. After the much-hyped OpenAI event that delivered a spectacular set of new features and upgrades earlier this week, users are reporting major service outages since yesterday.
OpenAI initially claimed that the outage was due to increased demand for its new features but later claimed that a DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack is behind “periodic outages” that are affecting both ChatGPT and its developer tools.
A DDoS attack is designed to overwhelm an online app or website by sending it more requests than it can handle. Hacktivist group Anonymous Sudan took credit for the alleged attack and blamed it on OpenAI’s “general biasness towards Israel and against Palestine”.
We’ve logged into ChatGPT several times today and found it to be functioning normally, so the issue may have been fixed. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
Turn $19,000 into $110,000,000? It happened in this market.
Mm-hmm, sure. So, what’s the catch?
We know it may sound too good to be true. But that's exactly what happened when a New York City man purchased a Basquiat painting in 1983 and flipped it for a 5,798x return on investment in 2017.
It sounds unlikely, but contemporary art prices have quietly outpaced the S&P 500 by 136% over the last 27 years. Now, everyday investors are unlocking access to the very same market thanks to the blue-chip art investing platform Masterworks. When Masterworks sells a painting – like the 16 it's already sold – investors reap their portion of the profits.

Mozilla introduces Fakespot Chat, its first AI model and chatbot that helps users research online products
Tools like ChatGPT might be great for generating essays and emails, but they’re also being used for a more sinister purpose: generating fake reviews for online products.
Mozilla, the company behind the Firefox browser, is aiming to tackle this problem with the launch of Fakespot Chat, its first AI model. The feature can be used via a browser extension to spot fake reviews for Amazon products.
But there’s more to Fakespot Chat than just catching fake reviews. Users can also talk to the chatbot to find and evaluate products. If you’re not sure, it can even give you a list of questions to ask about the product you’re looking at.
